Managing vehicle inspections in Switzerland is a complex process involving multiple stakeholders, high quality standards, and strict documentation requirements. To efficiently capture, process, and seamlessly transfer orders into existing ERP systems, a central platform is needed. TDC AG laid the foundation for its digitalization with the TDC-One platform.

The Challenge

TDC AG processes a large number of vehicle inspections daily for insurers, fleet operators, and garages. The existing process has evolved historically and is characterized by manual steps: orders are received via multiple channels such as phone, email, or interfaces, documents are stored in a distributed manner, and communication happens across several channels.

These manual processes, combined with the growing volume of orders, lead to media breaks, a lack of transparency in order status, and high administrative effort—both internally and for clients. The goal is to digitally map the entire process in a traceable and scalable way, without completely replacing the existing process landscape.

Background of TDC AG

Our Approach

At the beginning, a joint analysis of existing workflows and interfaces was conducted together with TDC. In workshops with TDC’s subject matter experts, current processes, roles, and dependencies were recorded in detail and prioritized.

Building on this, Digio developed a modular platform concept that integrates seamlessly into the existing system landscape. Special attention was given to a clear separation between the customer portal, internal processing, and the Abacus connection to ensure long-term maintainability and scalability.

Implementation was carried out iteratively and closely coordinated with the TDC team. New functions were gradually introduced, tested, and optimized. In parallel, the integration with Abacus was implemented and validated, enabling a smooth transition from manual to automated digital processes without interrupting daily operations.

This close collaboration resulted in a stable, practical solution that meets both TDC’s operational requirements and strategic goals.

Our Solution

TDC-One is a modern, web-based order platform that centrally maps the entire lifecycle of a vehicle inspection.

Through a web-based self-service customer portal, clients can create new inspections, provide relevant vehicle and damage information, and upload documents directly. The platform then handles the complete process management: from internal processing through structured communication to seamless transfer of order data to the experts.

Additionally, a public API is available, allowing insurers and partners to directly connect their systems. This reduces manual interfaces and makes collaboration with TDC significantly more efficient.

TDC-One acts as a digital hub between customers, experts, and backend systems—fully web-based, role-based, audit-proof, and open for integration with external systems.
